Full Throttle sponsored drivers have been busy kicking butt and taking names.  Here’s a quick snapshot of some recent results:

Karting:

Full Throttle is extremely proud of the progress our two young sponsored drivers are making down in Lawrenceburg. We gave Matt and Andrew Franxman some early-season coaching to help them refine their driving skills and the results are clearly showing. Both have moved from mid-pack competitors to front runners. Matt now has 10 first place finishes on the season and is leading the Jr. Blue class by a huge margin.  Andrew has climbed all the way up to second place in season points for the Jr. Gold class! We wish them the best of luck for the rest of their races!

Chase Stempfley is also dominating the TAG class at the Ohio Valley Karting Association.  Chase is the defending class champion from 2011, and he’s running away with the lead in 2012 and not looking back.  There are three races left to his schedule, the next being on September 23rd!

Autocross:

Tom O’Gorman, Dave Montgomery, and Dave Santel all took a trip to the Sports Car Club of America’s Solo National Championship and Pro Solo Finale earlier this month.  Tom was able to pilot the Full Throttle CRX to to Pro Finale win in the STS class, with car owner Dave Montgomery finishing tenth.  Tom looked to repeat a few days later at the National Championships, but those pesky cones got in the way and a two second penalty on his fastest run bumped him back to a still extremely respectable third place.  Dave Santel got off to a rough start on day 1 in his H-Stock Mini Cooper, but rallied on day two to finish 5th overall.

Road Racing:

The Paul’s Automotive/Full Throttle Mustang was piloted by Brian Faessler at the NASA National Championships in two classes, American Iron  and STR2.  Driving in wet and drying conditions provided an exciting end to the season for Team Faessler, taking a 4th place finish in AI and a 6th place finish in STR2.

Bearcat Motorsports:

Airing up for their 2013 assault on the most competitive student design competition in the world. In an attempt to build on the 2012 finish (33rd out of 120 teams in Michigan), BCMS has chosen new team leadership, new design philosophy, and with the help of their sponsors Full Throttle Indoor Karting, Exact Metrology, Morris Technologies, DieCraft Machine, and the University of Cincinnati will allow them to meet and exceed their previous success. The Formula SAE team regularly has team driver training sessions at Full Throttle where new drivers learn the skills necessary to handle the impressive driving machines they build each year.
